My Dream Date

I know many of you wont believe me. But it is the truth nothing but the truth.

In my life of 23 years 2 months and 18 days, I have never ever been on a Formal Date.No guy has ever asked me out on a date. I have seen in movies and on T.V. but have never witnessed it.

It was yesterday only when I was swimming deep in my thoughts, just random thoughts, then only it struck me as a bolt from the blue, I realised I have never had a two way romantic relation. I have never said the magical words and have never heard it from someone.

True to my habit, I started thinking it even harder, and then I realised I don't even have a Dream Date in my mind. The signal was enough, the engine of my mind got ignited and the wheels of words started rolling. And here I am telling the world and also the lucky one about my DREAM DATE....!

Lights...Camera....Action...

I will be a Saturday evening, I will be dressed in my beloved pair of jeans and a sultry blue top, he will be wearing his blue jeans and my favourite red shirt with those converse shoes. He would tell me to be ready at 4 sharp, so that we don't get late for the movie he had planned, so according to the plan, I will reach our decided destination at 4.

But he will give me a surprise and take me on a drive. It will definitely be raining that day, we would go for a long drive, with music on in the car and we would talk continuously and keep on talking. We both will discuss about everything under the sun. He will create a Playlist of my favourite songs and we would sing hummm and talk...

And then after a while we would stop by a lake and he would take out a Thermos flask with hot coffee in it and we would park the car somewhere and then get drenched in the rain and drink hot coffee. We would eat hot samosas somewhere and get wet in the rain.... We would not want to go back to our respective lives and would love to live in that moment forever. But we will return from our dreamland and go to our respective homes.....

This will be really an Ideal Date....

Is Rafael Nadal the Greatest?

Double Fault!! Just Long!! Rafa Wins!!

These were the last words that I heard on the online commentary from the laptop of my office on the Monday Evening and then my heart sank. This wasn’t the first occasion or the first year it had happened to me. From the past 5-6 years, around the same time in the year, it has been happening, to me just once in 2009 I was jumping with excitement at this time because Federer had beaten Soderling to claim his Career Slam, the rest years have been filled with despair and some cursing. But still I stand up every time and clap for this gentleman whom I curse as he has time and again proved that he is the one to beat when it comes to the Clay Surfaces.

Rafael Nadal won his 7th French Open Singles Title becoming the First man in the history of open era tennis surpassing the great Bjon Borg who had won 6 of them, a feat which looked unconquerable until Nadal his quest and year after year emerging much stronger and more formidable. I agree he is the King of Clay as the world says but if people say he is the World’s Greatest, I beg to differ. Nadal has won 11 slams till now out of which 7 are French.

But

Is he the greatest?

This question will be definitely be answered in the times to come!

A dejected Djokovic stood there in the presentation ceremony.  Not blaming the rains completely. He was seeing the good side of the loss, he was on the verge of losing at the hands of Tsonga but he rose from the ashes and fought back. He might not be the King of Clay but he surely gives Nadal a run for his money. He has stopped Nadal’s express and limited his achievements to the clay. While Rafa still has the lead when it comes head to head, of these 19 victories, 12 have been on clay.

Does Nadal deserve a place here yet?

So I throw the Question again….

Is Nadal the Greatest?

Queen of Good Times

This is my first speech at Toastmasters Club....

Its called the ICE BREAKER......

The title is : Queen of Good Times!

Here is the Speech for you

I am sure, everyone one of you will agree that I am the Queen of Good times at the end of my speech..

I won the parent lottery

I was born with the winning ticket, a major reason I am able to live the life of my dreams

My father who has worked as a Finance Executive all his life, a complete workaholic who likes to go to office even on Sundays for two hours, the only man who I have never seen cursing anyone, a person who is totally content with his life, but this is just the sober part, the same person had also bunked school and watched 3 consecutive show of Amar Akbar Anthony, 12-3 3-6 6-9, had taken his fiancé for a bike ride date against the wishes of her parents, the same guy who has never missed a single E.P.L or I.P.L match. For these and a million other reasons he is the hero of my life.

My mother, my best friend is a simple sweet woman who has always taught me that the joy of giving is more than joy of receiving, whose major part of life was spent taking care of her two ninjas and in resolving fights of her young kids.
Who said world war three never happened, my mom has been witnessing it from the past 23 years of her life, and I and my elder brother are like chalk and cheese. We haven’t agreed on anything till now and I don’t see that happening in the near future too.

Coming to my childhood

My childhood was filled with infinite joys, joy of going to school every day, joy of doing homework every day, joy of playing every day, joy of riding that bicycle every day, jay of falling off from the cycle and getting that knee bruised every day, joy of having those big birthday parties with uncountable number of friends, the joy of losing your brother’s favorite car or pen and then crying so loudly and hearing a sorry in spite of saying it, the joy of playing teacher teacher to an invisible class, joy of winning the best dancer trophy on my 12th b’day.

It was time when 3 dairy milks in day was the biggest bargain and drinking two glass of milk was the biggest achievement

This kind of childhood might sound quite ordinary by today’s standard but it was actually a magical childhood. I really see myself as a girl who had this incredible leg up in life because I had a mother and a father who gave me the freedom to be/ who got so many things right for me

The childhood gave way to even a better adulthood

After having a almost perfect school life, the time had come to change gears, to step out of those uniforms and start working in what people call the real world, towards those big dreams that I had in my eyes.
I wanted to become an MBA and that is why I joined BBA in JD Birla college and that wasn’t the only reason, JD Birla was said to have the best crowd in whole of Caluctta, and surely I wasn’t disappointed, the second day of my college and I open the gate of the computer lab, there I see a tall lean boy with most mischievous eyes I had ever seen, he was wearing a classic collared UCB blue tee with faded jeans and  such a killer smile, he smiled to me as I entered the lab and by God I was dead instantly. Well JD Birla had kept up the promise. I bet half my college life was spent staring at him profusely.
While pursuing BBA is also took up the CS course for I wanted to study law and an additional degree with MBA would have had sealed my place in the Executive Chambers.

I had my eyes on the sky.

I fared well in college, managed to be in the top 10 students at the end of the course and also an all India rank holder in the CS examinations

I was heading towards the perfect home run, I was about to complete my career slam but as they say life is full of surprises. What goes up must come down, the same happened to me
Life had some different plans for me I was yet to learn a few lessons from life. They say life is all about balance, the co existence of positives and negatives together, what goes down up must come down and so it happened with me too

A family crisis happened, at the same time my best friend fought with me badly, my childhood friend got married and shifted to another city, my first attempt at CAT was a complete disaster, life surely became a mess, all plans and aspirations down the drain. This was an unfamiliar place, I was a winner and to take so many setbacks together took a toll on me
But life gives a problem with an inbuilt solution and when u are ready you see through it, it took almost a year and a half to bring my life back in shape with the help of friends family and my boss
Here I am standing in front of you on my two feet, proving that you fall in life only to rise higher.

Well after listening to all this, if you are looking forward to having a good time with me, I must tell you I am complete Cricket and lawn tennis fanatic and I love reading motivational books. I am a complete foodie and love eating all kinds of food, be it home cooked food, junk food, street food, food id food. I organize the most amazing birthday parties and I still don’t charge for them. In a party you will never ever see me standing in the corner, I am always at the dance floor and I dance till the lights go out.

Now do you all agree that I am really the Queen of Good Times!

P.S. I won the Best Speaker at the meeting
P.S.S: Will put up the photo of the Memento and the Video very soon!!
